Planners for Climate Change launched November 11, 2017 at COP-23 in Bonn. This new stakeholder initiative by UN-Habitat and its partners brings together associations of urban and regional planners from around the world to contribute to the debate and decisions on climate action under the framework of the Marrakesh Partnership adopted by the UN in 2016.

APA, ACSP, GPEAN, and ISOCARP were involved, as were planners' and planning educators' associations globally. ACSP was represented by Michael Boswell of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo; APA by Jeff Soule; ISOCARP by Didier Vancutsem, and GPEAN by me. In the next months efforts will be made to expand the number and diversity of associations involved.
